STAY IN SHAPE: Run or power-walk from downtown, past the capital building, through the University of Texas campus. Take a spin class downtown—rock out with Joe! Rent a kayak and find your way down the scenic Colorado river.

PAMPER YOURSELF: Check into the Van Zandt, which includes free happy hour. Who could say no to 5-6 complimentary margaritas, YUM! Hotel San Jose is a private oasis, set back from the SoCo shopping center. Looking for a little art deco? Take a look at the South Congress Hotel!
